Darwin’s Pub offers perfect pub atmosphere coupled with a meticulously crafted music performance space. The venue caters to both veteran music lovers and college crowds alike, thanks to Darwin’s infectious, comfortable atmosphere, and unforgettable sound quality on stage.
The founder, CJ, explains, “The decor, the music, and staff reputation—it’s the pub to be at! If you want to go out casually and just have a beer, no pressure, with lots of seating to relax after a long day at work and enjoy some quality music, this is one place that you want to hang out.”
Darwin’s stage is the self-proclaimed Best Stage on 6th Street, and was forged with detail: sand-filled, attic-blanket insulated, treated with egg-crate paneling and heavy 16-oz curtains. What is most innovative and unique is the segmented 18-wheeler rubber tire attached to the underside of the stage, effectively rendering it a floating platform. All of this is supported by a house PA and backline.
Darwin’s pub stands firm in its own identity. CJ affirms, “…I am a pub, not a college frat bar or sorority bar…we’re going to make our name and we’re going to make our mark. It’s a pub and it will happen. I’m a firm believer in live music and providing it properly for my customers. Everybody started with original music, and I like to encourage the new artists that ‘We’re going to provide you with a professional stage so you can come and play and bring your music to the world.’”
